So forever ago I bought some liquid metal thermal paste for my old laptop: www.amazon.com/Thermal-Grizzly-Conductonaut-Grease-Paste/dp/B01A9KIGSII never actually used it cuz I got a new laptop so it just sat in a box. My new Acer Predator gets really hot like most gaming laptops. After a couple games of PUBG the CPU would be sitting at 80-90c and sometimes kick up to 95c. Today I finally decided to put my Conductonaut on. Oh my fucking god. When I first turned my laptop on I thought I had forgot to plug my fans back in because they made no noise. I fire up PUBG and play a match and at no point does it ever go above 68c. Thats not a typo. 68c. Fucking totally ridiculous. I wish I took the 45 minutes to do it months ago. The best part is how whisper quit this laptop is now. Its completely ridiculous. I highly recommend buying this stuff.

Do laptops not have an IHS or did you delid it? Liquid metal never cures, I'd be worried about that moving it around.
I was going to delid my CPU at some point to use LM, the 7700K overclocks easily but the temperatures are stupidly high.

You are supposed to reapply after about 6 months. I did not delid my CPU. I have moved my laptop around a fair bit since I made this post and I have had zero issues. While I would never recommend grabbing and shaking a computer with liquid metal on it as hard as you can so far its been rock solid.
